I have two e-mails (two servers) set up under OE while I am transitioning from a paid server to a free one. Problem is, I can view e-mails in the older one, but it won't let me delete them (it goes into the OE not responding mode). Help - I need to save some, delete ALOT and then get out of dodge.

Try File>Folder>Compact All Folders.

If that doesn't work, than one of your folders is likely corrupted, or possible virus infection.

You say you have 2 mail accounts, do they both deliver to the Inbox? Is it possible you are highlighting a large message, and it is trying to display it in the preview pane? If so, you can turn off the preview pane in View>Layout.

I opened the link but don't know where to find the Deleted Items.dbx file to delete it so OE will rebuild it. I believe something is corrupt in that identity.

I am the "jack of all trades" in my business and owner of a small company. Have issued a policy regarding restricted use of company resources. From things I know how to look at, employees are being more careful = more creative (I no longer see activity in history although I know they've been playing (in viewing temp internet files). HOWEVER, I now see a new program loaded on my systems = Java with a penquin. What's this about? What do I need to do?

You will have to display hidden files to see the location of where DBX files are. The location of course depends on which OS you are using. If using W2k or XP the path will be something like this:

C:\Documents and Settings\qusjgar\Local Settings\Application Data\Identities\{PID number}\Microsoft\Outlook Express

PID number is a long number which represents how the system refers to your account.

As for the Java program it sounds like it could be a Java Virtual Machine from Sun or some other party. Windows comes with its own JVM but sometimes other websites require a different version or a user just chooses to use a different version. Check your ADD/REMOVE programs to see if you find such a program installed.
