Can't Create and MDE File

Hi, I'm having trouble creating an MDE version of an ACCESS 2000 database.

I tried converting it to 2002 with no luck and I also opened up a form in design view, opened the view code mode and debugged / compiled it with no luck. Do I have to do this with every form and is this the right step?

I don't recieve any error messages. It's just that the "Make MDE File" is grayed out and I can't select it.

Any suggestion would be tremendously appreciated

[li]Do a little testing to make sure everything works.[/li]

I just tried that. It didn't work. The Make MDE File is still grayed out.

OK. This was an Access 2000 db. This time when I went to work I tried converting it again to a 2002 version and it worked that made the Make MDE File option available.

I'm not sure why this is happening? I should have been able to take the Access 2000 version and create an MDE File with that.

No,its not a replicated database.
This seems very weird to me that I had to convert it to a 2002 in order to make an MDE and that my prior trouble shooting steps didn't work.

The database should be the same version as the access app.

PHV is right; you can run an Access2000 db in Access2002, but in order to modify it you need to convert it into the same version you're working in!

I simply said this:
To convert a MDB into a MDE, the database version should be the same as the access app.
