I have windows 2000 server service pack 4. I recently started having a peoblem with backups and copying large files.
I have network connectivity and everything seems fine but my backups are failing and I cannot copy large files. Small files copy ok, but large files ( I am trying to copy 125M and the backups are full backups of 4G)give me the error:
"Cannot copy Filenmame:The specified network name is no longer available".
It is nothing hardware related. I have swapped everything out, even replacing the server with a different one using the same hard drive (thinking maybe the NIC),swapped out switches, routers. I have had Telco check lines.
I have checked autodisconnect settings putting them at 4 weeks, MTU fragmentation, DNS, everything.
I still have connectivity and can browse the remote server when the copy or backup fails.
Anyone have any ideas?
