cant copy file - fails crc check

does anybody know if any utilities that might help me copy some files from a computer DVD? Ive tried copying in windows xp, dvddecryptor, dvdshrink and even a DOS copy to try to get these files off the dvd but i get the crc error and cant get the files copied with anything i have.

any suggestions would be appreciated...

Are these data files or??? Something that you created and placed on DVD or a pre installed files?

i dont think its any kind of copy protection, it appears to be just a regular computer DVD that somebody put some files on for me and sent to me. Its definitely not a commercial dvd type disk. I thought maybe it was damaged but i cleaned it up and there dont seem to be any scratches or any physical damage to the disk.

Well, i just kept on trying the dvd until my system could finally read it. But, there still must be some kind of utility that would let you read files off of a damaged cd/dvd so that you dont lose an entire disk if you have some minor disk problems.
