can't connect to ipo 406v2 via ethernet

hello,

we had problems with the ipo. we couldn't change the configuration anymore (can't ping ipo).

we erased the flash with.

at-x2
at-x3

now the factory defaults are loaded, but we still can't connect via ethernet. we tried the ip 192.168.42.1 (factory default?)

the manager software can't find the ipo.

anybody an idea?

Make sure Manager is not higher than the IPO, I know it probably isn't but sometimes you can overlook silly things like that.

Is thsi totally isolated from the rest of the LAN

If the default IPO detects a DHCP server on the LAN it will become a DHCP client....

Unplugg everything from it except your laptop and try again

He's talking about the DialIn and RemoteManager feauture, where as you dial in usually over ISDN (can be done with analogue) and Manage the system Remotely.

You need to use an isdn modem to dial into it.

Bear in mind I have had two maybe three 406's with faulty LAN ports, and when they fail you can't talk to it at all, you can dial in but you cant see the system at all..it just does nothing.

by default analogue won't be allowed to access RemoteManager

we had this problem before. maybe six month or so.

we erased the flash by using at-x2, at-x3 an we could reconnect after to the ipo. uploaded our config and it worked.

in jan we got exactly the same problem again. no lan connection via phone manager and the ipo does some strange things...

today i did exactly the same again, but i can't find the ipo via ethernet.

if i try to erase the flash now again, i can't do it again. flashloader starts and i hit esc and it stops. no at-x2 commands available.

i think the ipo is dead for management. it works perfect with the system defaults, but i need to upload our conifg...

Yes I have had this, basically the LAN ports play up a couple of times as you describe and then one day they completely give up. Hopefully this has not happened to you as it's pretty much a full replacement.
