i cant connect to our exchange server through
CFPOP.
what could i be doing wrong?
i typed in the exchange server name for the SERVER,
then typed in my username and password but it tells me i've typed in a wrong password.

can anybody help me on this? thanks so much!

If the error sounds like a bad username or password, I would try a true Internet mail client such as Eudora or Netscape and use the exact settings and see if you can connect through them. Although it sounds like it's not the problem, make sure you use the Exchange server's true hostname (or IP) and not it's windows networking name. If you can connect to it with a mail client like Eudora or Netscape, CFPOP should work with the same settings. If it doesn't and the others do connect, post your CFPOP code and I or someone in the forums should be able to help.

Thanks for your help Gunjack.
Actually, I could not set up the popmail download through anything but Outlook Web Access here's the code:

<CFPOP SERVER="#popserver#"
USERNAME="#username#"
PASSWORD="#password#"
ACTION="GETHEADERONLY" NAME="GetHeaders" PORT=110>

but the problem was it somehow confuses the mailbox name with the username. Thus it doesnot recognize the matching password.

Hi rsuayan,

If you can't get mail to download with other Internet e-mail clients, the problem is not likely to be with CF as it uses the same protocols. I would check with the mail administrator and get instructions on how to connect a pop3 client to your mailbox. There may be some config on the mail server required for pop3 access to your mailbox. Once you can connect with regular mail clients, the CF code you posted should work.

Hope this helps,
GJ
