One of my users is running Outlook 2000 on WinXP Home OS (Internet Mail Only). Suddenly she could not close the Archive pst while Outlook is open. It gives the following error: "The operation failed. An object could not be found." Now, here's the weird thing, in every other respect the archive seems to be OK. You can perform archiving and the messages will move to the file without errors, you can open up, read, forward etc. messages that are in the archive, you just cannot close the archive. I have tried copying the file (without errors) and renaming it, moving it, but it still appears in the folder list when Outlook is open. I found some reference to this error in the Microsoft Knowledge Base (#292022) but the fix didn't work. Any ideas? [2thumbsup]

The only thing that I've found to cure this is to create a new Outlook profile. You can still use the original .pst with the new profile and delete the old profile.
