We can't clear the data from a MC32 DSP Card that used to be a leader. The commands clearLeader, nvramLeaderClr; NVRClear "respond" but when we reboot the card, it still has the previous IP, etc. info.

How can we really clear this thing so it can become a follower.

I have always used NVRClear, followed by clearLeader, then reboot the card.

You should not have to do anything on the PBX to clear the leader/ip info on the MC32 card itself.

If you have tried the NVRClear / clearLeader commands, and it is still coming up as the leader, it could be that you have issues on the TLAN. It may be that the IP info is being cleared, but after the reboot, the card is pulling it's correct info from bootp, but it cannot see the actual leader on the TLAN, causing itself to become the leader.

Downlaod a copy of the IPL software that is applicable for your node. Remove the CF card from the MC32 that you want to clear out and insert into your PC. Delete all files and folders on that card. Take the IPLine file.sa and rename it EXEC with no extension and copy it onto that blank CF card. When you re-insert the card into the slot, the EXEC file will auto-inflate and the directory structure will be rebuilt.

If you reassign the MC32 in the node while it is out of the slot, it should obtain its config via bootp after auto-inflating.
