Why is it that sometimes in Outlook 2000 the font controls are greyed out so I can't use them. I notice this happens in messages where the e-mail is fairly long, but I havn't noticed a consistent pattern just yet.

I tried looking through options and changed a few things, but no luck; is there a way around this?

I figured it out; it's when the person who originates the message has their settings set to plain text (mine are set to rich text), then my settings for that message are set to that when responding or forwarding. All I have to do is change that specific e-mail to rich text (by going to Format -> Rich Text) and I can change the attributes again.

Hope this helps someone else!
