I hope someone might be able to help me with this one.
I have formatted a CDRW disk in UDF format and labeled it as "Daily". Win 2000 will not recognise it as a valid volume and refuses to write to the disk. I can drag n' drop as much as I like but MS Backup says "No way!"
Works great for my daily backup in XP. Why not this O/S?
Thanks........

Did you format it on the 2000? If not, do so.

Hi again.....Yes I did. I again (with a new CD) formatted on the WK2 machine, labelled it and tried my backup but didn,t even start with the error "G: is not a valid drive or you do not have access". I am logged on with admin rights and power user.
Backup to Hard Disk no probs but not CD. I have to back up to HDD then drag n drop the .BKF file from the HDD to the CD where it burns normally. Wierd hey?
BTW thanks for the reply anyway.

Weird indeed, how did you format it, with DirectD or anything other?

Yes and no. Tried the first one with InCD then used Direct CD with the same results. It appears W2K just doesn't support it. I thought it worked in Win98 but just can't remember. Looks like I may have to go across the network to a mapped drive on XP to do an unattended backup to CD :-(
Thanks for reply..........

I had to uninstall InCD on my workstation b/c it kept crashing explorer.exe - FYI.
