cant add winsock control

Hi,

I just wana experience a little bit with winsock, etc... and cant seam to add the winsock control. I looked under "Project"-->"Components" for the microsoft winsock control but didnt find it. I tryed to manually add the wsock32.dll but received an error message. so my question is how do I add the winsock control in vb6?

forgot to add, im using windows xp sp2 if that matters

the winsock control uses MSWINSCK.ocx and is listed under project-> components as Microsoft Winsock Control 6.0

I cant find Microsoft Winsock Control 6.0 under the components list. I also searched my hard drive for the MSWINSCK.ocx and didnt find it. Can I download the file somewhere?

Doing a goole search on MSWINSCK DOWNLOAD should provide several locations for downloading the winsock control. This is a control that is provided by Microsoft when you purchase the Professional or Enterprise version of Visual Studio 6. Are you using the Learning Edition? I'm not sure what the legal implications are when using the winsock control with the learning edition.

Hi, Im using the Professional Edition from visual basic. I downloaded the mswinsck but still have a few probs but I should be able to solve them. thx
