can't add users to users list

I added users but in exchange system mngr under users list I can't see them, but when I open properties and click view I can see them? Is there something I am missing here. I am having an issue when trying to create an accnt from a clients outlook I enter the info of the exchange server but when I go to verify name it says the name not found, so I am assuming this has something to do with not being able to the users in any of the lists? any help all!

Can you be more specific. I assume you are creating the users in the Users and Computers snap-in. You won't see the mailboxes until either the mailbox is opened or a message is sent to it.

I had to reboot the server and start ldap services, then it all worked, but the question now that has me confused is...why when I click on users list in system mngr.(Forgot to mention this is on a small business server)it does not show the users? If I right click and open properties and then view I can see them? Is this default behavior or is there a way to unhide or show them?
