Hello,
I have a problem where I can grant users from a 2nd domain-tree access to folders on my domain, but cannot add them into Global Groups on my domain. When I configure folder security in Windows Explorer, the drop down menu shows the 2nd domain and I can select users as required. However in Active directory for Users and Computers, the 2nd domain does not show when I create a new Global group and try to add users from that domain.
Any help would be appreciated.

users from another domain cannot be added to global groups. You need to add them to Domain Local Groups.

Thanks, I can now see the other domain. Only problem is, since this is a slowish WAN connection, I get a message back saying "Cannot display objects from this location because the specified domain does not exist or could not be contacted". It seems to time out pretty quickly on this. Is there a way of increasing the timeout?
Thanks

GerG
