I just had my computer rebuilt...new motherboard and cpu. Had a new hardrive installed, with my old hardrive as a slave. Also had windows XP installed on the new hardive (was running win 98 on old hardrive). I now have outlook up and running on the new hardrive, but I can't find/access my old messages (inbox) that must be on the old drive.

How do I find my old inbox and move the contents to Outlook on the new drive?

Thanks,

If you are looking for Outlook files they will generally be found in a file called outlook.pst which can be in any number of locations depending on version etc... You must import this into your current setup. File -> Import -> Another program or file -> .pst file then browse to its location.

If you are looking for Outlook Express mail it is usually under C:\windows\application data\identities\?...?\microsoft\outlook express for win98, but can sometimes be elsewhere. (C:\Docs and settings\?user?\local settings... for WinXP). Search for inbox.dbx and check the date to locate. Import via File -> Import -> Outlook Express version? -> store folder then browse to the outlook express folder located above

the .pst file should be in the application data\microsoft folder on win98 if im remembering right, so try to browse over there

easiest way will be to do a search on that particualr drive though

other than that read petergriff's comment
