Have you gone to the Canon web site to see if you can find your situation there? They should have a Tech Support page and/or a FAQ page that might list this problem. Scanners in general are resource dependant. If you have a lot of stuff running in the background it can affect your scanning quality. Try doing a Ctl-Alt-Del & End Task on everything you don't need for the scanner, and see if that helps. I could be wrong, so don't hold that against me. At least I'm trying!
