I have a user who saves all of his Quark documents from a Mac to a Windows 2003 server.

Occassionally he gets the message "Cannot write to disk" or "Unknown File" when he saves and then the document becomes corrupt.

He goes between the Mac and the PC on this, so he can recover the document on the PC just fine. However his issue is Mac to Windows 2003 server.

I believe that his Mac is on Quark 6. Appletalk is installed on the Windows 2003 machine and his user rights are r/w/m/x.

Thanks.

...i've had this sometimes but trying to save the file to my own desktop and not a server...

...i found that I could 'save as eps' and then quickly 'save as' again and it would save it...

...sometimes this wouldn't work and I have transfered the artwork to a new document before closing the document that wouldn't save...

...save it to your desktop if possible and then copy it over to the server, if it won't save to the desktop copy or thumbnail move the artwork to a new fresh doc, save to desktop and then transfer to the server...

...quark files across a network have some quirky issues at times, I'd advise that you work on a quark file copied from the server to the desktop and then transfer it back...
