When I open “My Network Places” -> entire network -> Microsoft windows network -> and than click on my domain, I do not see dozen of machines that are currently on the network (logged in). I enabled file and printer sharing and I can access \\machinename\admin$ or \\machinename\C$ I also tried “ipconfig /flushdns” and “registerdns” (as someone told me), but it didn’t work. I also cannot see those machines from other OSes such w2k or Win2003 Server. Any idea why I cannot see machines in my network places even though they are on my network and they are logged in? I hope, I'm in the right forum. Thanks in advance.

. WINS server misconfigured?
. DNS entries incorrect: faq779-4017
. Netbios over TCP/IP not explicitly enabled on each missing client? . Firewall issues, including "hidden" firewalls in Antivirus products; PC-Illan is notorious for this.
. VPN Client software installed? CISCO VPN client unless configured properly is notorious for this.
