cannot recreate system attendant mailbox

There is currently no system attendant mailbox on one my Exhange servers. Many people have said creating a brand new store will recreate the mailbox once it is needed.

I have created a new store, and it generates the SMTP and sytemailbox mailboxes, but no the attendant. I tried running a mailbox move to see if that would trigger its creation but it does not.

Any ideas? Thanks.

You need to dismount the store and remount it for the SA to be created.

zelandakh - Thanks for the response, but I have remounted the newly created store several times, and it does not create a new system attendant mailbox. Please advise.

Stop the Exchange Information Store service and restart then.

Zelandakh - I have tried that also. Basically this is what I've done. Dismounted every store, created a brand new one. Stopped and restarted MTA, SA, and IS services.

The SMTP and sytsemmailbox gets generated in the new store. The systemattendant mailbox does not exist in any other store.

Erm, what do you see in the event log? The SA mailbox should be created automatically if it does not exist.
