I can send e-mail from the web based interface in exchange 2k3 on w2k3 box, but cannot receive e-mail from external addresses. The e-mails come back with
******************************************
Your message cannot be delivered to the following recipients:
Recipient address: user@domain.ca
Reason: Illegal host/domain name found.
******************************************
I have domain.Local and domain.ca both as forward lookup zones in dns. domain.ca has mail host (a) pointing to my external ip, and an mx record to Domainserver.Domain.local (the external ip Host (a) record)

I also have STMP port 25 open as a service to the external ip.

Any idea what I setup wrong /missed setting up would be much appreciated!

External DNS for domain.ca needs an MX record that points to your exchange server.

The mx record to Domainserver.Domain.local is the same server as exchange (I only have one server). Anything else to look for?

Thanks

Nevermind I Fixed it. The problem was at my isp's end.
