Hi

I have an application on win 2000 server that produces a word doc. and places this in a folder on win 2000 server.when I read this file from a win 2000 machine it opens the file...but when I read this file from a win 95 machine it comes up with errors....what is the problem here and how can I solve it...

Thanks

depends of what is the error
Probibaly it's problem with Word on w95 cause doc is created in some new type of .doc format in new word on 2k.

If you open it from 2k than there's nothing wrong with file, right? Srdjan Katic

What versions of microsoft office are you using on both the 2000 box and the 95 box? there are times when lower versions of office cannot open files from office 2000 or office xp due to macros, formatting and images etc...

Hi

I dont have office on the win 2000.My application just creates a *.doc file and I read this *.doc file in word 97 on the win 95

Try to recreate document in Win2K, but first in same .doc format than, if unsuccessfull, in some other format. What application u use, maybe it's compatibility issue? Does this situation aplies to all documents created in that application? Try to open document on some other w95 machine. What happens? Srdjan Katic

Welllll,.. what is the error? That is the most important thing!
You are saying that your application is creating that .doc file. What are the security settings for that file? Gia Betiu
