I cannot access ONE website. According to others, the site works fine. But I get "Page cannot be displayed" on this site if I use the IP or address...

When I try to ping, I get:
"Reply from 64.152.17.xxx: Destination Net Unreachable"

By the way, the IP address in the message above is NOT the IP of the site in question...

I've tried deleting cookies and temp. internet files etc. to no avail. Another strage thing is I can access a PART of this site (stats.------.com), but just not anything on the main site (
Any Ideas people?

I have tried using an anonymous proxy site to access the website in question - it DID work.

I have also tried a DNSFlush to no avail....Does this help narrow down the problem?

Is the site in question listed in your Hosts file or blocked by any Firewall?

Get Packetyzer or Ethereal from the Internet and trace your Internet traffic while loading the page.
Perhaps this will give you (us) some more information.

Packetyzer just freezes when I leave the window...

Have you checked your Hosts file as Linney Suggested?

Found in c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc

Open Hosts in Notepad, can you see the site in question?

Can you let us know what the site is so that we can check it from here?

# This is a sample HOSTS file used by Microsoft TCP/IP for Windows.
#
# This file contains the mappings of IP addresses to host names. Each
# entry should be kept on an individual line. The IP address should
# be placed in the first column followed by the corresponding host name.
# The IP address and the host name should be separated by at least one
# space.
#
# Additionally, comments (such as these) may be inserted on individual
# lines or following the machine name denoted by a '#' symbol.
#
# For example:
#
# 102.54.94.97 rhino.acme.com # source server
# 38.25.63.10 x.acme.com # x client host

127.0.0.1 localhost

Nothing of note, I see.

Dragon,

Perfectly clear hosts file.

The only other thing I can think of is a problem with your ISP. All major ISP's cache the sites that their customer visit to save on the amount of bandwidth that they have to use. I have had problems in the past where an ISP's cache became corrupted and I had to wait 24 hours for it to be refreshed before I could visit a site.

Well it does seem to be working now (first time in about a month), so that may have been it.

Thanks for the info.
