Cannot input via console with hyper terminal 1

ok i have hyperterminal setup as thus

Bits per sec : 9600
Data bits : 8
Parity : none
Stop bits : 1
Flow control : none

using a proper console cable from my db9 serial port to the console port .. when i reboot the switch i can see all the post tess and diagnostics but using the keyboard cannot input anything !!

help please !

Go out and download Tera Term and use that instead , hyperterm is garbage.

What is your FLOW CONTROL settings? Is this a CSS that you are trying to console into? If so you have to turn all FLOW CONTROLS off.

CSS ? its a 2900xl switch

Make sure that flow control is turned off in your terminal emulator software. Additionally, make sure the SCROLL LOCK button is not active on your keyboard.
