I recently replaced a laptop for a user that had offline files enabled. I deleted his profile, and then gave the latop to another user. When the user logged into windows, it was still trying to sync with the old user's offline files, even though the profile (and all files) were deleted. I then went into the offline files options, and clicked delete files. I deleted the entries. Now when I try to enable offline files for the new user, the disk space allowed meter (slider) is stuck at 0. I move it up, click ok, then when I go back in, it is back to 0. The user has local administrative rights (the same problem occurs logged in as administrator). Because the meter is stuck at 0, I am unable to sync his offline files.

martind - I have a similar problem. I cannot increase the case size. It continues to tell me that it's unable to make the file available offline b/c a device attached to the system is not functioning. I have not changed users (that I recall). I did however use the cachemov tool. I don't know if that makes a difference or not. Have you had any luck solving this problem?

Ok, I got it to go. A couple registry tweaks and it seems to be fixed. Still some issues with it not increasing by as much as I want it to on the first try without a restart, but at least it works.

In HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
-SOFTWARE
-Microsoft
-Windows
-CurrentVersion
-NetCache

Change the values of DatabaseLocation and PhysicalLocation to something like C:\csc. I used my D drive.

Hope this helps. I've only had it working for 10 minutes, so it might not be the long term fix, but it seems to do the trick.

After a few restarts, I was able to get the change to stick while logged in as admin. It still tries to sync with the old user and reports errors everytime it syncs, however it is synching the current user properly, and that was good enough for the end user.
