Hi All,
I was in the middle of migrating to another Netbackup server and I had logically moved the media with bpmedia -movedb to the new server and removed the robots, drives, etc. from the old server.
Once completed, I attached the SCSI cable to the new server and fired it up. Well, 2 disks on the server died somehow, don't ask me but they're dead so my "new" media/master server is not alive any longer. It was fine until I powered it off 5 minutes before I tried to attach the cables.
So, I have to get back to my old one. I've reconfigured all of the drives/robots and scratch media can be used fine but my hangup is the old images still think they're on the old server. I've got a few months of data on them. My plan is to expire the tapes and import them since I can't logically move the tapes back from the dead media server. I get a can't attach to client/server message.
To add to the frustration, I can't expire the tapes. I try to bpexpdate -m <mediaid> -d 0 and it times out. Straight imports fail also...
Has anyone got any ideas on how I could force it to expire the tapes so I can import them or another possible way to get around it?
Thanks very much!
