I am unable to ping the workstation 192.168.0.12 from the server. But I can ping the server from the workstation 192.168.0.2. I am Unable to Browse the Internet on the workstation. Whereas I can see the files and use Pc anywhere to see anything on the server 192.168.0.2. But I am unable to search the workstation 192.168.0.12 from the server.
Server Ip= 192.168.0.2
Workstation Ip=192.168.0.12

1. DNS issue: assuming you don't have internet dns, 1) make sure both server and client point to the same dns; 2) create mlhosts to point to the same dns.

2. ping issue: since ip routing is enabled, I am assuming you use server as router. make sure not firewall running on the LAN connection.

3. Internet access: can you ping the dns, 139.130.4.5? also try to use nslookup to check the dns status.

maybe i am off here. Your primary DNS server is 139.130.4.5 Your secondary is 192.168.0.1. Shouldn't your primary be 192.168.0.1? In addition, forwarding should be setup on the internal DNS server pointing to 139.130.4.5 for all lookups not resolved by the internal DNS server.

Two quick questions for you AGA.

1. How exactly is the wireless laptop connected to your win2k server? Does the win2k server have a Wireless Nic or do you have a wireless hub/switch/ or router between them?

2. What is 192.168.0.1 and is there a direct connection to 192.168.0.12? Is there a direct connection to 192.168.0.2 or both?

Here is the nslookup status from the laptop:
Now I can ping the server IP 192.168.0.2 from laptop and also server can ping the laptop Ip 192.168.0.12 but I can ping DNS server IP 139.130.4.5 from server but unable to ping from laptop:

*** Can't find server name for address 139.130.4.5: No response from server
*** Default servers are not available
Default Server: UnKnown

Does your Windows XP Firewall on?

Make sure you off it. If the firewall is on, the problem mention above might appear.

Xp firewall has been turned off but Still the problem is the same.

The Laptop is connected with Widows 2000 server wireless NIC on both side No Hub swith or router between them its in a adhoc mode, very simple connection. In fact it was working fine before and suddenly it stopped working.
