Cannot delete temporary internet files

I have a hard drive that I added as a secondary drive on my pc. It was one I pulled from another one of my machines. There are some files under the Documents and Settings>Name>Local Settings>Temporary Internet Files>Content.IE5>Folder Name> that I can't delete.

The file names are mygroups[1]. and myprefs[1].

When you click on properties of the files, nothing shows up. I've tried booting in safe mode and deleting them. I've tried opening up a command prompt, stopping the explorer process, and deleting them. nothing works. When you try to delete the file it says "Cannot Delete file. Cannot read from the source file or disk".

I can easily format the drive, but there is a ton of stuff on there I don't want to have to backup and restore.
Any suggestions?

NTFS filestore? Have you tried taking ownership of \documents and settings (including all its subsidiary folders/files)?

So far, no luck guys. I have safe-booted and logged in as administrator, and still no luck. And when I right click on the file to look at properties, everything shows up blank. There's nothing in any of the fields, there are no tabs at the top except for the "General" tab.

It's really weird. I even downloaded Tune-Up utilites 2003 to see what it would do. It recognized the file as a zero-byte file and tried to delete it, but came back with a message that the file was in-use or I didn't have permission, even though I was logged in as Administrator.

I appreciate the help, but I think I'm just going to format the drive and forget about it.
