Dear all,

I'm unable to get rid of my Internet exporer history. I've also got TweakUI installed on Windows 98. Even hitting delete history does not get rid of it. Any ideas?
Where is the history kept, is there a place I can delete it manually?

Thanks

Joe

Probably you have it in C:\WINDOWS\HISTORY.
Have you tried to set the number of days to keep
historical data ?

I've got '0' days set, I hit 'delete history' then clost the browser. When I reopen, the history is still there, now I'm not sure if it will still be there today, as this happened last night

Thanks

Joe

Thankyou, I thought TweakUI did this already?

Cheers for your help.

Joe

you could delete then 1 by 1 by openin history in the browser and right clickin on and deleting the file you wish to get rid of, annoying i know but i does the trick..
or press delete history files in internet options then go to date/time change the date(to a few days ahead) restart the computer and change the date back again. works for me

feel free to mail me at

hope this helps

When deleting the History in IE, you know this won't remove the cookies, just the web sites you have visited. If you go to C:/Windows/Temp Internet Files folder you should be able to use the Edit menu/Select All and then hit the Delete key. If any file is being used by Windows for whatever reason, it won't delete it. (i.e. you are using an HTML or jpeg from your History as Wallpaper.)
