Problem: I made a mistake... I installed some files in the directory..

C:/Documents and Settings/All Users/Applications Data

Not the best choice for putting a file because NOW I cant delete it, and I cannot uninstal it.. I even tried a utility which allows deletion on next boot (cannot remember the name at the moment).. It too was not allowed allowed to delete the files.

These are not system files, they are not read only, they are not hidden.

I re-installed the software in another directory and I was able to delete them.. Went back to the Applications data, nope could not uninstal. So I suspect that it is something to do with the location (ie C:/Documents and Settings/All Users/Applications Data)

Even tried a SAFE BOOT, nope wont let me delete or rename or cut them

I just cannot delete them.. THere has to be a trick somewhere. Any clues for me

Thanks in advance

log on as a different user and you should be able to delete them.

Are you suggesting coconuts migrate?

Thanks everyone..

I hope you wont be too upset with me but I actually came up with a solution before I got to read your suggestions.

I used System Restore ... went back a couple of days... Restored and then was able to delete the files...

I dont know why it worked but it did...

Thank you for the other suggestions I am sure that I wil need them when I stuff up again.
