Cannot Delete Files

Im having problems deleting files in Windows XP. I downloaded two files off of mIRC awhile ago and now when I try to go and delete them it gives me an error saying the file is in use. After I try to delete it also it then bogs my computer down incredibly and I have to reboot.

Anyone have any suggestions to fix this?

Have you tried going into Safe Mode to see if you can delete them.

You can pick up a lot of trouble via Mirc. There is a freeware program you can run to check out your system (Irclean.exe from the makers of TDS-3, DiamondCS)
