While doing some testing I created a 150Gb stripe set on an NT server using three partitions on an new HP VA7400 SAN we recently brought online.

Now I want to delete the set but when I try it from the Disk Manager, I get the following error message:

"The drive cannot be locked for exclusive use.
Please check to see if some applications are currently accessing the drive..."

The server is the file server in an application environment that uses a seperate file server/oracle server setup. The file server and oracle server communicate through several service daemons, primarily TNSListener and imanfs(a service on the file server). I disabled all of the services that may be trying to access the drive and I also disabled sharing (including the default share) and I still get the error.

Is there a way to see what processes are connected to this drive? How do I delete this stripe set?

You say you disabled those services - did you actually stop them running? (You can disable a service but still leave it running - it won't actually be stopped until you stop it manually or reboot the machine).

Is Windows Explorer open at all?

Have you disabled any Anti Virus software, or any programs running at the time (in the system tray as well as on the task bar).

Are any users shown as being connected in the Server applet under Control Panel? [auto] MCSE NT4/W2K

Sorry for the delay in replying.

I disabled Norton anti-virus and that worked!

Thanks so much, dhawthorn, for your help.
