I downloaded a Nero program called NeroMix to try it out. I didn't like the program so I uninstalled it and deleted all the registry key for it. I found a file in my documents and settings folder called "ntuser NeroMix Media files" Its about 4meg in size. When I try to delete the file I get an error messege that says " Cannot delete ntuser. It is being used by another person or program. Please close any progams that are using it and try again" I've tried everything I can think of. Yes, I am logged on as a computer administrator. Here is what I've tried:

Uninstalled NeroMix
deleted all registry keys
disabled all startup programs in MSCONFIG

This is a very annoying problem in XP. I've run into this before, but I usually just reboot or do the above mentioned and its always worked until this time. Please help. Thanks

Check with Taskmanager if there is any remaining process still running in regard of Nero (like NeroCheck).
Kill it, and look it up to remove it.
Then delete the file. The solution is out there. [morning]

None listed. I also deleted nreocheck from the registry.

Update,

Okay people, I fixed it. Neromix infested my whole system! It assiciated with different files throughout the C drive. It was in my emulators, windows files, games everything! I was backing up what I could save and was about to reformat and reload everything when I remembered a neat little feature in XP System Restore! After rolling back a couple of days everything is good now. I had to reload a couple of things but its all good. Just glad I didn't have to do it all. Anyway, the file I was trying to delete had nothing to do with NeroMix, it was a file called "ntuser" that nero renamed "ntuser neromix media file" Why neromix did this is beyond me.

Thanks for the replies and as a word of advice, DON'T EVEN THINK ABOUT USING NEROMIX!!!
