cannot copy files in windows 2000 server

cannot copy files from one directory to another .. windows message reads " cannot access file , source file may be in use" .. only happening in certain folders .

Sounds like your source files are in use. Make sure the files are not in use and then initiate copy. Joseph L. Poandl

win2000 server saying source file in use when i know it's not. Won't let me copy or open Quickbooks company file. What should I do?

Make sure you have read permissions on the files and folders you are trying to copy, and write permissions to the folders you are trying to copy to.
