I have a HP2200 LaserJet printer which is used for a program called Meditech. The Meditech program is suspose to connect to it via IP and print reports. Well I took it to the location that it is suspose to be in and when I connect it to the network jack it would not nobody could print to it. I cannot ping it at all. But I can ping another device if I connect it to the same port. I have tried to reset the Jet Direct card, assign it another static IP address turned off all protocols except for TCP/IP and SNMP. Appletalk is not active. I even updated the firmware on the JD card and still it does not work. Can someone explain why I cannot connect to my printer but I can connect to another device plugged into the same port. Can someone help.

Have you tried with another parallel cable between the JD box and the printer ? Is bidirectional support activated in the driver under ports ?

I think there is a red button on the JD that will test the printer>JD connection. Press for a test sheet.
