Howdy, I am trying to connect to any microsoft website (hotmail, msn, messenger, windows update, microsoft.com) through a second computer.
I have one XP computer directly hooked up to a cable modem, I have the second one that doesn't connect to MS sites (this one) connected through my first computer via a crossover cable to my second network card.
This is a clean install of Windows XP, as of about 30 minutes ago. I have no firewall. I am virus free, I am spyware free. If you are going to post to say "SPYWARE! VIRUS! YOU'RE INFECTED!" just hit your back browser and never give anyone advice about computers again, I certainly dont need it here.
I can ping microsoft.com, well, the DNS name resolves anyway... Every other site I can think of works well, just not the MS sites.
I have heard of a linksys router having bad firmware that was doing it, but I have no idea what is doing it now. I really hope someone has some idea of where to look, I'm stumped.
