Hi all,

Hope somebody can help with this.

Does anybody know what I need to do to the Windows firewall in order to be able to access a remote workstation? In other words, I do not want to completely turn it off, but as an administrator be able to access all its resources. You know, be able to ping it, access administrative shares, install services remotely, etc. Which ports do I need to add to the exception list?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks.

is it on the same network?

in the advanced tab of the firewall allow file and print sharing, also remote connection and remote desktop

The Windows file sharing ports should automatically get added to the exception list when you enable file sharing.

Thanks guys!

I will try that.
