We have a couple of Windows 2003 sp1 servers and one is causing trouble. Its a DC running trendmicro antivirus (Officescan) and for that we created a CNAME in dns called ANTIVIRUS which has been working for more than 6 months.
Then by accident we deleted a bunch of users from AD... damn. but we got them restored and all seems fine. BUT on the Antivirus server called SV1202 when I try to access it self (physically at the server) using start, run \\antivirus iam asked for username/password If I do the same from a XP workstation its all fine and I get the shares from that server, If I on the server again access \\SV1202 or its IP address its all fine If I create a new CNAME called something else Im asked for login.

Strange that from the server I cannot access itself using one name but another i can.

please anyone ?
