We have a user AD account which was disabled but has been renabled. At this time we cannot access the email account. I have checked the permissions they look ok. Regardless, tried giving my account full access, did not work. Tried giving that user object full access, also cannot log in. What next? EX 2003 in a 2000 domain.

Can the system admin access the mailbox?

Could be the mailbox was deleted?

Iain

I am EX admin and Domain admin. Mailbox is there. I am stupmed.

OK, set outlook up to access the mailbox then when it rejects you it should give an error in the event logs.

That'll help.

Iain

Also make sure on the "Exchange Advanced" tab of the user's account, that "Hide from Exchange address lists" is UNchecked. If that box is checked you will not be able to access e-mail.

found my problem. I had it fixed but the exchange server was so busy it was not picking up the changes. Sometimes I forget to be patient with it.

It usually takes about 3 hours for us to be able to access mailboxes once we enable accounts. Even if we force a replications it still takes 3 hours. I've never tracked down exactly why.
