Hi,

I have set up a user with remote access via VPN, I have install the SSL certificate, configured outlook with Exchange and everything connects fine.

Then I tried to map one of the company's network shares, the net use command runs, the network drive maps and user name and password is requested, provided and the command completes successfully.

However, I cannot access the dive, it just errors with 'Access Denied'.

I have altered the LSA reg key for compatability and tried values 1 & 2 it was originally on 3, but this doesn't seem to make a difference.

Why can't I access the mapped drive?

Cheers,

Do you have access to view the user's file and folder permissions for that folder? I know we have to have file/folder permissions assigned by the network admins where I work.. Same as on a file server, read/write/execute type things... have a look there.... needs to be added for that user, or else needs to add the user to a group who has permissions there.

I had a similar experience and I installed "Network Magic"
and it worked wonderfully well ever since.
Go to Google and type in "Network Magic" and you will gert all the details.

OMG what a complete and utter idiot i've been!

We have a company group all users are in, I don't know why , I assumed they were already in this group!

I had to add them to the mobile users group as remote access is controlled by group policy, I didn't even think of checking till you mentioned that KJV.

I feel sooooo stupid!

Hey we all make mistakes, and it's all working now so no harm done really, just a little egg to wipe off my face.

Thanks KJV!

cgkeller,

Network Magic is an alright application for a home network, but I don't think it'd work for a large business/corporation, or one large enough for the setup 1DMF is working with.

Besides that, I don't think it would have worked for this specific issue all that well. It does make networking easier than doing it all manually, I suppose... but again... on a home network. [wink]
