I add the Exchange server to the client without a problem, but when I restart Outlook I cannot open the "Mailbox" from the exchange server.

Alternatively I can go through the OWA with the same username and password and see the email for the user.

Thanks in advance for the help.

What error message do you get and what does it say in the event log on the client and the server?

I was able to login wiht a workstatio in workgroup mode.

The other workstations are attached to another domain, but in the past if we kept the login and pasword the same on an exchange server (5.5/2000/2003) we could run outlook without being asked for a password and their mailboxes were accessable as well as public folders.

Are there any changes with Exchange 2007?

This server is steps away from being a production server. HELP.

Thanks.

You are going from one domain for the client to another domain for the server? Why?

We have an existing domain internally wiht many servers. Exchange must be load on to an PDC.

We built a new one, 64bit and put it on the network. I have many networks with Exchange on them that function fine as long as we create the same login and passwords on each domain it function transparent to the users. This is relevant when we just want to add an email server and thats all.

Over time well will add additinal controllors to the new domain and we will have rid of the older domain. Its common place.

We have a test workstation on the network and we are going to add it to theold domain and new and verify its connectivity. As of now its works just fine in workgroup mode.

We still have any issue wiht existing clients (internally, not remote) the we want to move from an outside POP3 to their PST. We attach them to the new Exchange and incorporate them into their existing PST. This is all common place for us.

The problem we are having is that we cannot open the users "Mailbox" within their PST even though they were able to authenticate to the new server and add Exchange without error.

The error we get when we try to access the Mailbox is related to offline folders and seems generic. I can generate them for you to be more specific.

I might add that all functions of the server is running well, inbound and OWA. We actually made it a production server Friday night and everything was a go, but we had to reverse gears late Sunday evening because of the Mailbox issue. As this wasnt a clean deployment.

Your thoughts would be much apreciated.

Outlook 2003 requires public folders, which are not by default installed with Exch 2007.

That might be the problem. Still awaiting news of the messages in event log.
