I recently upgraded from v6.0 to 8.0. With v6, you could use the escape button to stop program execution. The default in v8 is to not allow that, although the user has the ability in tools/options/general to set a check box to allow "cancel programs on escape" (you can also use the "set escape on" command within program code, but I am trying to avoid going through a bunch of other pgms).

I have checked the tools/options box and have also checked the "set as default button". This seems to work for my existing instance of v8. However, when I quit vfp and come back to it, the cancel programs on escape is unchecked again.

Can anyone else duplicate this? Any ideas?

Thanks
Greg

Probably it's because some bugs in VFP8.

Greg,
It's never been a good idea to depend on "default" settings. Always set them the way you want them - not only in your main program but in any form that uses a private datasession. Some defaults are different in the IDE vs. the Runtime, so you really need to make sure to set them explicitly, so your app works the same in both environments.

I am fully agree with Rick!
It's one of the reason I always use config.fpw for each project. When it's time to distribute the program, all I need is to copy the config.fpw along with the distribution/installation.
