I am thinking of installed MS SQL Server on one Server but hosting database on a second Server (SNAP Server)

Is this possible?
Do I need a special type of Licence?

Many Thanks in Advance

Why?

The performance is likely to be fairly awful. No matter how fast the connection between two servers. It is not going to be as fast as an internal drive on the server.

Also in general SQL server as an issue with removeable drives and network drives. So I am not even sure you could get it to work.
