Hi,
I am working with Exchange Entreprise Server 2000 and have configured a domain:
holidayhouse.dk on the Exchange server.

Also I have several users under that domain name e.g. exchangeuser@holidayhouse.dk.
What I want to know is: Is it possible to have the same domain name on another
standard SMTP mail server (e.g. Internet Anywhere Mail server) and have its
own email accounts on that server e.g. anywheremail@holidayhouse.dk if I
point the MX record in the Internet DNS servers at the Exchange server.
So the result that I want becomes, that if a e-mail from outside is sent
to an account that is not existing on the Exchange server, the Exchange server
then sends the unknown email to the Internet Anywhere Mail server where it
exists. I've tried setting up filters in Exchange but it doesn't seems to
be the right way to do it....???

Does anyone know how to get the job done ??

Help will be very much appreciated. Thanks.

Yes this is pretty simple, the Exchange server will check to see if the receiptant resides on the Exchange server and if it doesn't it will forward it to the SMTP server.

Follow the directions on the the following Microsoft Article: Setting Up SMTP Domains for Inbound and Relay E-Mail in Exchange 2000 Server (Q260973) (link to Article )

Look at the heading on the article labelled "Domains That Are Shared Between Your Exchange 2000 Organization and Another SMTP Server" and follow the directions. This should solve your problem. Thank you,
