I'm trying out a network inventory scanner that dumps an xml file out to a network drive. The documentation just says to reference this exe file from the users logon script. I've added a line to the bottom of the script after the drive mapping that gives the complete path to the exe file I want to run. It works fine if I double click on the script in windows. It doesn't work during the users logon. Is there something I'm missing? I've tried moving it to another batch file and referencing the batch file, I've tried using the START command to start the exe file; nothing's working. Any ideas? We're running win2003 server, scripts are in the NETLOGON directory. Thanks for any light you can shed on this.

I've tried a vbs file before. It seems that they work while I'm in Windows but don't when I reference them from the logon script. A batch file with the START command works from the cmd while I'm in Windows but the same command added to the logon script doesn't work.

Is there anything else in the logon script prior to what you are trying to execute that passes control to something that then never returns control back to the logon script?

Freestone - I'm not sure. I am referencing a batch file that cleans the users temp internet files out. I think I've got it figured out. I moved everything to a vbs script and used wshnetwork commands to get it all done. I've got a few test users running the script in the morning as a test. It worked fine on my profile so hopefully it's good. Thanks for the help ya'll.
