I'm trying to clean up the switch and wanted to see if there was a way to run a BULK command to list usage on all vectors and skills. I can list usage on each vector to see if it is called by a VDN or another vector but that will take a very long time. ASA has something that does that for coverage paths. Along the left frame under Fault & Performance there is a Audit button that essentially will run a list usage on coverage paths and let you know which ones were orphaned. Any suggestions?

Any little tricks would be much appreciated!

This is what I do:

Run a report of list vectors using the Report feature under the Advanced tab in ASA, export fields to a file, then import into Excel.

Create a string of all the vectors listed using formula to get a string of all the vectors.

So if the vector numbers are in column A the formula would be like this:

If the first vector number is in row 1 then in an empty column (say Column J) enter ="li usa vec "&A1&";"

In row 2 below the formula you just entered enter =J1&"li usa vec "&A2&";"

Copy the formula in row 2 down all of the rows that there are vectors listed.

Then run a report of these vectors using the report feature under the Advanced tab in ASA, copy and paste the string into the report window and export fields to a file, then import into Excel.

If the string is too long, then you might have to run a couple reports to get all the information.

You can do the same for skills, VDNs, anything you can export as a list.

The other thing you can do is to purchase a program called Utilcall, it's a really good program for this.

Thanks Stinney, I haven't done anything like that before so I'll give it a try. Sounds like a great solution! thanks for the quick reply!!!

Stinney, I can't get the string to copy into the report window. It only copy's the first "list usage ve 1" Is there a trick to getting all these fields into the report window?

You would copy the string from the last row the formula is in. So if the last cell you copied the formula into was J54, you want to copy that cell's contents.

I see what I did wrong. Your example used column J to copy the data, I actually used C and needed to make the adjustment in the formula. It worked brilliantly! Thank you. That is a huge time saver and never knew you could do that! You da Man!
