I have a user who works remotely from home over a VPN.

He has two computers and would like both of them to be logged in via separate VPN connections, but from the same user account.

Is this possible to configure? or is it one VPN connection per user at any one time?

In my experience, you may have 2 concurrent connections from the same user, as long as they connect via different machines. TS licencing seems to take the machine name rather than the user for the licencing.

Sorry, this isn't an admin user - it's an ordinary user who has to much kit at home & wants both of his laptops connected to the internal network via VPN at the same time. He's only using office apps i think, no terminal services....

At present it's only letting him have one connection at a time with his user account - if he disconnects from one laptop he can then make the connection on the other one, but not at the same time, which is what he's after.....

any way of doing this?

I would bet this is an issue with the remote router only allowing one VPN tunnel at a time. What kind of router is he using?

jsentelle sounds like hes got something there...
maybe could try to set up a different VPN connection (protocol wise) on one of the laptops, and have him connect through PPTP, and one through IPSec
or maybe set up another user account for him if the router thing deosnt pan out with identical permissions (join him to the same groups) and instruct him to use one username on one and another username on another....shouldnt be a problem if he uses the laptops mostly at home because eh'll just click remember password anyway
