I was wondering if its possible to create a subquery within the qbe. If so...how is it possible.

Thanks -- are there any links on how create advanced sql on the site?

It's a real shame that the Graphical QBE Facility is so limited.

What you can do is create the sub query as a query, then cut an paste the SQL into the QBE sheet of your main query. This at least saves you typing raw SQL.

I think the designers wanted you to save subqueries as a query in itself, and then call them as tables in other queries...

but that's just my idle ponderings...

The whole qbe grind interface is to give 'Office Admin Staff' types the ability to create SQL queries.

I would suspect that the concept of a Sub-Query was way beyond what the developers ever expected qbe to be used for.

As Crowley says - solution at the level that it was designed for would be to save the Sub-Query in its own right and then refer to it in another query.

Hard to do for correlated sub-queries ...

How true. Indeed this was the principal aim of the entire relational model.
