We recently installed Avaya Site Administration (ASA)2.0.12. Will the application allow you to access the Intuity LX voice mail systems? All of our voice mail systems are networked.

I havent figured out how to. Maybe you can with newer versions of ASA. When the install tech installed my LX he said no, all I could use is the browser interface.

I login into my Intuity Audix LX via ASA...maybe I am not understanding the question...I have ASA R1.12.02.03
Just get the ip goto File/New/Messaging System

Type in the name of the system, i.e. chicago Audix
-Hit next and select Network Connection.
-Hit next and enter in the IP address.
-Hit next and enter a open port. (23 is default but this can be changed to accomadate Firewall access.)
-Hit next to change the timeout info.
-Hit next and select "I want ASA to log me in automatically". If you select for ASA to prompt you for login info, you will not see the next two steps.
-Hit next and enter your login
-Hit next and enter your password
-Hit next and you are shown the settings you just inputed. Test the connection or hit next to Finish. Default emulation is set at 4410.

My Intuity Audix LX does not listen at all port 23; if it did, I should be able to telnet to it from a command prompt.

Yes, that is true port 23 will not work. Some users say they can connect to their LX using ASA. And others say you cannot use ASA to connect to an LX. I am currently running
version 2.0.12.

I have an LX here in our call center, and I've been using ASA to connect since day 1. In the office and remotely. Never had a problem.

You guys that have it working, please provide your configuration information.

We just installed our first LX. Here is the deal that we heard. ASA works but you need to make sure that avaya has opened up port 23 so you can log in. Now here is the catch, it only works for the vm login not the sa. Avaya told us that the only way to login via sa is from the terminal or browsing in. If someone knows differently let me know.

My LX and Audix are on a internal LAN. BUT...I can VPN into it from home. If you are outside your network, make sure you have that port open. Maybe Pete (You there), my BP can answer the set up question.

I just use my web browers and goto the ip of the intuity. Seems to work okay for me.

OK...under TCP/IP Administration I have the following:

Network Addressing

TCP/IP Interface: eeE_0
Host Name: Name of your Audix
IP Address: IP Address of the Audix (static)
Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
Default Gateway Address: Main IP Address of your network

Network Interface Card Set-up

Network cards detected: IntelPRO/100B/PRO/100+

Network Interface Card PRO100B
Network Media Type Auto-Detect

Intuity Audix and Intuity Audix LX are not the same. The latest release of Intuity Audix LX is Release 1.1. It is a whole new Audix platform. According to Avaya Intuity Audix LX is web interface only.

IALX V1.0 will allow you to use ASA. V1.1 which is out now will only allow web interface.

We are installing today a new Intuity LX (don't know which version...). Will it or will it not work with ASA? I'm a little confused on this issue. If you only use the web interface, can you still import/export like with ASA?
