Can you change the name on the tab accross the top of your sharepoint site on a subsite if you have already named it and have uploaded documents to it without having to create a new subsite?

thank you so much Panzer3215. You have solved my problem. Do you know how to make a subsite be on a drop down under the parent site or another subsite?

This worked for me, but I had to start on the "Home" page and then click on "Site Actions", select "Site Settings", under the "Look and Feel" column choose "Top link bar". This opens a listing of all the tabs. Click on the "menu picture" next to the tab you want to change. This opens up an "Edit Link" page which allows you to update the web address and/or change tab name by updating the "description" box. Hope this works for you.
