Can Win2k work without DNS entries

I would like to know if there is any way of installing/configuring a Win2k server with Active directory but without DNS as i don't have a continuos connection to the internet. Please help

you don't need a continous connection to the internet, any local Win2K DNS server will do just fine...

(installing a Win2K DC requires DNS on the DC... just choose a local DNS namespace for your local site and it will work) --------------------------------------------------------------------

Bad news: Active Directory requires DNS.

Good news: You don't need a constant connection to the internet, you can install DNS on your Win2k server. Marc Creviere

are you telling me that i can only run win2k server with dns and i can have a win2k server on my network without dns.

i want to run my network with win2k server but without dns, because i don't want to install dns, is that possible???

yes, but you won't be able to have any domain controllers...
What is the reason you don't want to use DNS ? It's the whole idea behind Win2K...
