Hi,

Can we expect to see a VFP 10 or 64bit version of VFP? Just curious on all of your thoughts.

Thanks,

Razzle,

Can we expect to see a VFP 10 ...

Probably not.

The next upgrade to VFP (currently known as Sedna) is not really a full release. It's more like a series of incremental upgrades -- more like extensions and add-ons. There's no plan for any root-and-branch changes to the core functionality, apart from bug fixes and service patches.

I believe the current estimate for Sedna's release is for the first half of this year.

For more on this, see:

and also Tamar's article in the current FoxPro Advisor.

... or 64bit version of VFP?

My guess is no -- at least, not in the foreseeable future.

Mike

There are no plans for a 64 bit VFP. As Mike said, Microsoft is working on an update to VFP, but it will probably no be called VFP 10. See

There also won't be a 64-bit version of Office in the foreseeable future. ;-)
